After nearly two months of preparation, Arweave Day in Asia 2023 finally concluded successfully yesterday. As the largest annual offline series of events in the Arweave ecosystem, Arweave Day in Asia 2023 maintained its consistent high standards. From event preparation to content selection, it has always focused on technical sharing, continuously strengthening the influence of the Arweave ecosystem in Asia and globally through its hardcore technical content output.

This year, despite the generally subdued market environment, the atmosphere at the Arweave Day in Asia 2023 event was lively. Teams from both the East and West, including Arweave, Forward Research, SevenX, everVision, everPay, Hansa, ar.io, Akord, Kwil, Permaswap, Relation, 4EVERLAND, WeaveDB, Mind Network, arkreen, ReadOn, Adot, KYVE, Permaweb News, Stamp Protocol, d.id, Next.ID, The Graph, S31 Labs, Starpower, KNN3, DeSchool, NostrAssets, and others, gathered at the historic Old Parliament House in Singapore. DMac: The Birth of Arweave and its Innovative Consensus Mechanism SPoRA

In the genesis block of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto recorded the phrase, "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on the brink of second bailout for banks." This marked the first time in human history that something was recorded on a blockchain. Inspired by George Orwell's novel "1984", Arweave founder Sam Williams decided to develop a blockchain capable of recording human history, ensuring that it could not be tampered with by anyone. Since the official launch of the Arweave network in 2018, the Arweave ecosystem has been continuously developing and improving its standards.

Unlike Bitcoin's PoS mechanism, Arweave employs an innovative consensus mechanism called SPoRA, essentially an access proof. Nodes participating in the network are rewarded for storing the transaction history of Arweave. Nodes can only be allocated block rewards when they prove to the blockchain that they can fully access the data of the previous block and retrieve blocks. In this way, miners are incentivized to store data, and all data is resistant to censorship. Arweave will continue to advance towards improving data performance and decentralization.

Arweave has uploaded over 1.27 billion transactions, with a total storage of over 157TB, 1229 protocols, and more than 940,000 users. In the past 6 months, it seems that decentralized social applications have dominated Arweave's protocol data usage.

outprog, the founder of everVision, explains how Permaweb and SCP theory address the impossible triangle of blockchain. The blockchain's impossible triangle refers to the inability to simultaneously satisfy the following three characteristics: security, decentralization, and scalability. So how do SCP and Permaweb solve this problem?

SCP stands for Storage-based Consensus Paradigm, and its core idea is that as long as stored data cannot be tampered with and every transaction is traceable, applications will produce the same results through computation. By leveraging Arweave's permanent storage feature, this idea can be achieved.

SCP's architecture primarily consists of three parts: applications, services, and storage. Storing all data on Arweave ensures its security, open-source applications and standardized services provide decentralization, and standardized applications can infinitely expand their service capabilities.

Tom Rakis: Permaweb, A Better Vision for the Internet

Tom, the Resident Founder of Forward Research, introduces Permaweb. Permaweb is a composable network where users' data can be used by multiple applications. Permaweb provides services such as gateways, uploads, and queries.

The Permaweb ecosystem can be divided into several parts:

• Protocol: Permaweb has many protocols, such as Stamp. Why emphasize protocols? Permaweb aims for all applications to be composable. For example, when a user likes something on BazAR, this action is also displayed on NOW.

• SDK: SDKs reduce the development burden of developers in combining applications and minimize redundant development. In Permaweb, all SDKs are released on-chain, allowing developers to quickly access them.

• Application: Applications and Permaweb are closely related, as users use applications to upload data to Arweave.

• Service: Warp, SmartWeave, and SCP all provide services on Permaweb.

• Token: Transforming the value of data into tokens.

All these elements are essential for a composable Permaweb, enabling developers to create applications quickly.

Gerry: Wallets and DIDs: How to Attract Millions of Users

Gerry, CMO of everVision, discusses how Web3 can attract more users from the perspective of wallets and DIDs within the Arweave ecosystem. The high barrier to entry and understanding of wallets has prevented many users from effectively entering the blockchain. This has become a new problem as blockchain technology continues to develop. To address these issues, everPay has developed a new feature called EverID. EverID is everPay's account management system, allowing users to register for everPay accounts directly through their email without the need for a wallet. How is this achieved?

EverID, which uses email login, employs the FIDO account mechanism, a set of identity authentication protocol frameworks. WebAuthn is a standard Web API built into browsers and platforms to support FIDO authentication, providing passwordless authentication services. Therefore, users can register for EverID directly using their email address.

Sam Williams, the founder of Arweave, shared the history of Arweave's creation, the latest Universal Content Market (UCM), Universal Data License (UDL) technology demonstration, and important previews of Arweave 2.7 at the conference.
