Community Labs’ Adds New Feature To ArweaveKit To Cut Down App Building Time

ArweaveKit, a tool launched by software development company Community Labs to make building on the Arweave Protocol simple for developers has been updated with features it says will make querying and securing data effortless.

Community Labs announced it had added GraphQL and data encryption functions more than a week after Tate Berenbaum, its chief executive officer, told Permaweb News that the company had ideas for potential directions to take ArweaveKit and that it was gathering feedback from the community.

Created by Facebook in 2012 and used by the company for some time before making it open source in 2015. GraphQL is used to query data from any number of different sources. At some point in the building of apps and protocols, developers will use GraphQL to get data for analytics and to interact with smart contracts.

Users no longer need to set up APIs for GraphQL. Instead, users can directly pass in queries to a selection of gateways. This approach provides more efficient, scalable, and real-time data retrieval, Rohit Pathare, developer relations at Community Labs wrote in an announcement.

It also said it was making encryption and decryption features which had been existing on a few protocols, accessible to everyone to make it possible for developers to add data privacy and confidentiality attributes to their projects.

Users no longer need to navigate complex encryption protocols independently. Instead, they can utilize ArweaveKit’s built-in encryption and decryption functions directly, simplifying the process of securing their data, the announcement read.

GraphQL and encryption features are the latest upgrade to ArweaveKit. The features join Arweave Wallet which brings all wallets existing in the Arweave ecosystem in one place to give developers the power of choice and cut down the long time it takes to build.

These latest enhancements are a pivotal step towards making Arweave increasingly user friendly…As we continue our journey, we look forward to delivering more improvements that will redefine your experience with ArweaveKit, Community Labs stated.
