Arkreen Network Announces Token Testnet
Akreen Network, a platform that connects and monetizes globally distributed clean and renewable energy equipment to reduce carbon emission is now testing its token in the first phase of its testnet in preparation for mainnet when the network is mature and stable.
tAKRE which is ERC20 compliant and operates on the Polygon blockchain has a maximum supply of 10 billion and distributed a percentage of 30 for builders, 20 for the core team, 20 for investors, 18 for treasury, 10 for the ecosystem, and 8 advisors.
The token’s utility ranges from rewarding contributors who build and maintain the network and accessing services provided by the network. The network stated that Arkreen’s green data services and its renewable energy certificate can be accessed with the token.
“In essence, AKRE plays a dual role, serving as both a reward mechanism for contributors and a method of payment for the network’s service fees,” Arkreen stated.
Launched in 2022, Arkreen is a digital infrastructure network for globally distributed renewable energy equipment and devices. Its goal is to use digital technologies to collect real-time green data related to carbon emissions from renewable energy resources.
Arkreen’s roadmap is in four phases with the first phase which ends in May 2023 involving the development of components such as IoT loggers and smart contracts. In phase one, owners of solar PV panels, who are on the supply side, are incentivized to feed real energy data to Arkreen Network. Phase two will focus on partnerships. Phase three will involve exploring regenerative finance to monetize energy network data.
Arweave’s decentralised storage plays a role in Arkreen’s network. Green energy data and renewable energy certificates stored on the network are permanent which makes them immune to tampering. The technology also allows data to be stored for a long time and accessible because it does not have a single point of failure.
